The Harms of Greenhouse Effect
Greenhouse effect is mainly caused by excessive burning of coal, petroleum and natural gas, as well as the large number of exhaust emissions in modern industrial society. After being burnt, these fuels will release a lot of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which will then lead to greenhouse effect.
Greenhouse effect brings a lot of harms to human world, mainly as follows:
First of all, it leads to the change of the climate and causes global warming. The assessment report from Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change estimates that, the global average temperature on the surface of the earth will increase by 1.4 to 5.8 degrees in 2100.
Secondly, it increases plant diseases and insect pests on the earth. Global warming can cause deadly virus to threaten human life. Recently, American scientists sound a warming: because of the melting of Arctic ice caused by global warming, the deadly virus which has been frozen for more than hundreds of thousands of years may become alive again. This will lead to global panic of epidemic, and cause serious threat to human life. At the moment, human beings have no resistance to these protovirus.
Thirdly, it also causes the rising of sea level. If global warming is occurring, there are two processes will lead to the rising of sea level. The first process if is that the seawater is heated and expanded and then it causes the rising of sea level. The second process is the melting of glaciers and ice on Greenland and Antarctic increases the water in the ocean. It is expected that from 1900 to 2100, the global average sea level will rise about 0.09 to 0.88 meter.
What's more, there are also some other harmful impacts caused by greenhouse effect. For example, it will increase storms in the ocean, cause the drought of land, increase the desertification area, and so on. Human activities and the nature will also release out other gases which may cause greenhouse effect. These gases include: chlorofluorocarbons (CFC), methane, low-altitude ozone, and nitrogen oxide gases.
Then what we should do to eliminate the harms caused by greenhouse effect? In order to reduce the excessive carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, on the one hand, people need to conserve electricity as much as possible, and drive car as less as possible. On the other hand, we should protect the forests and oceans. In addition, we can also carry out the afforestation work, reduce the use of disposable wooden chopsticks, save paper, etc., so as to reduce the carbon dioxide in the air and help slow down the greenhouse effect.

Re: The Harms of Greenhouse Effect
Hello,
Greenhouse effect we can see on the environment. It happens because of coal burning and fuel comes from vehicle...
